TANEC PRAHA 2023 - Jan Martens - any attempt will end in crushed bodies and shattered bones
Co víc si přát v dnešním polarizovaném znepřáteleném světě než trochu lidskosti a sounáležitosti? Belgický choreograf Jan Martens a sedmnáct performerů nás vmžiku vtáhnou mezi sebe. Nezáleží na tom, jestli je nám osmnáct nebo jednasedmdesát let jako nejmladšímu a nejstaršímu performerovi na jevišti. Každý je jiný, s osobitým hlasem a vlastními zkušenostmi a dovednostmi, a zároveň spolu tvoří jednu entitu. Protestní songy v pozadí připomínají výzvy, kterým jsme nuceni čelit, přesto je inscenace zdrojem naděje a nakažlivé energie – nejen díky grandióznímu finále, které nás nenechá sedět v klidu.
What more could you want in today's polarized, hostile world than a
little humanity and belonging? Belgian choreographer Jan Martens and seventeen
performers draw us in in an instant. It doesn't matter if we are eighteen or
seventy-one years old just like the youngest and oldest performers on stage.
Each one is different, with a unique voice and own experiences and skills, yet
together they form one entity. The protest songs in the background remind us of
the challenges we are forced to face, yet the production is a source of hope and
infectious energy – not only thanks to the grandiose finale, which does not
let us sit still.
