About the inscenation
Isn’t it a little strange, honey? Has it really been four years since Oh Wonder released their album 22 Make? Time seems to pass differently with this band. But now the duo, Anthony Vander West and Josephine Vander West, are back – their single Mad World heralds a new era, and Prague will be there to witness it.
Oh Wonder will perform on 6 May 2027 at the Hybernia Theatre. Tickets (990–1,490 crowns) will go on sale from 30 October (fource.cz, GoOut, Ticketmaster).
They made their name twelve years ago by writing one new song every month and then releasing them all on their eponymous debut album. Since 2015, they have released four more albums, but have taken a break in recent years. “Our daughter was born, we built our own studio and celebrated the tenth anniversary of our first album,” say Oh Wonder, as they set off on tour with new music.
“The last few years have just got stranger and stranger,” they reflect. “Robots and data centres are creeping into our lives and eroding the value of art. Tech billionaires have more influence than ever before, whilst wars, genocides and natural disasters are claiming lives.” But it wouldn’t be Oh Wonder if they didn’t offer art as a remedy. “We hope that *Mad World* will bring you peace and, above all, hope.”
