“The shape of the symphony orchestra has been shaped over several centuries, and I wanted Hanz Sedlář, who wrote the arrangements and orchestrations, to make perfect use of its possibilities. To break my songs down into atoms and then reassemble them using the full potential of the seventy-five musicians with whom my band will connect.
In 2019, we toured with four symphony orchestras to test this out. And each time it turned out great. On 28 January in Prague’s Hybernia, we will perform with the Hradecky Philharmonic Orchestra, with whom we also recorded the studio version of the entire project.
I invited Ivan Hlas as a guest. When I started writing songs, I learned the most about writing lyrics from Ivan. And Malagelo, which will be performed in a grand symphonic form in Hybernia, was the first song I learned from Ivan.”
