About the inscenation
The British quartet The Backbeat Beatles, the world’s leading tribute band playing the original works of The Beatles, is returning to the Czech Republic. This time, the concerts will be dedicated to the famous 1969 album Abbey Road, and the band will play the main hits from this album, such as Harrison’s compositions “Something” and “Here Comes The Sun,” Paul McCartney’s “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer,” and the jointly composed songs “Come Together,” “Oh! Darling,” “Octopus Garden,” “I Want You (She’s So Heavy),” and others.
The Backbeat Beatles were formed in 1994 by musician, actor, and singer Chris O’Neill, based on the successful film Backbeat, in which he played the famous Beatles. The film won a British Academy Award (the British equivalent of an Oscar) for Best Music.
Their renditions of Beatles songs are almost identical to the originals, not only musically, but also in terms of costumes and overall stage choreography. The band performs in various arenas and theaters not only in their native Britain (including the famous Cavern Club in Liverpool, which they sold out). Over the past 25 years, they have traveled the world and filled large concert arenas in Beijing, New York, Paris, Moscow, Dubai, and Hamburg. They have played alongside famous artists such as Spandau Ballet, Shirley Bassey, and the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and have also performed at prestigious venues such as The Sporting Club Of Monaco, Gleneagles, St Andrews, The Belfry, The Grosvenor Hotel London, and others.
The Backbeat Beatles come from Liverpool, just like The Beatles, and interestingly, they are accompanied by a fifth member playing the role of Billy Preston, the original keyboardist for The Beatles.
The two-hour concert will feature songs from the Abbey Road album in the first half and a whole range of other hits by the famous Beatles in the second half.
