About the inscenation

The British quartet The Backbeat Beatles, the world’s leading Beatles tribute band, is coming to the Czech Republic and will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the release of A Hard Day’s Night with festive concerts. The musicians from the cradle of the Beatles, Liverpool, England, will visit Prague, Brno, Pilsen, Hradec Králové and Jihlava on their Czech tour. Special guest on the tour will be Jesus Rodriguez on electric piano as Billy Preston (additional Beatles member).

The band was founded in 1994 by musician, actor and singer Chris O’Neill based on the successful film Backbeat, in which they portrayed the famous Beetles. The film won the British Academy Award (the equivalent of the American Oscar) for Best Music.

Their presentation of Beatles songs is almost identical to the original, not only musically, but also in terms of costumes and overall stage choreography. The group has performed in various arenas and theatres in their home country of Britain (including the famous Cavern Club in Liverpool, which they sold out). Over the last 25 years they have travelled the world and filled major concert arenas in Beijing, New York, Paris, Moscow, Dubai and Hamburg. They have played alongside well-known artists such as Spandau Ballet, Shirley Bassey and with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and have performed at prestigious venues such as The Sporting Club Of Monaco, Gleneagles, St Andrews, The Belfry, The Grosvenor Hotel London and more.

The two-hour concert will feature most of the Beatles’ big hits. Energetic and spontaneous performances, classic costumes and a high standard of musicianship guarantee that every Beatles lover will be in for a treat during the evening!
