About the inscenation

The most famous and most performed Czech opera performed by leading Czech singers comes to life as an intimate drama of love and betrayal against the backdrop of two worlds – the world of nature and the world of people. The piano and harp, which accompanies the singers, emphasizes the extraordinary libretto by Jaroslav Kvapil. In this unusual performance, listeners will enjoy even the finest nuances of the masterpiece. Come and let yourself be carried away by the well-known fairy tale story with Tereza Mátlova in the role of Rusalka (for which she was nominated for the Thalia Award in 2022) and Daniel Hůlka in the role of the Waterman (Vodník).

The performance is part of the project Opera lidem (Opera for the People) within the Czech Singing Institute.
